Challenge
Reyco Electrical is a regional electrical contractor with active commercial and industrial projects across the Southeast. The company operates with a senior field and operations team and a small back office. Operations were running on QuickBooks, a set of tracking spreadsheets, and the experience of senior people who carried the operating playbook informally.
Three operating issues were creating friction:
- Project margins were difficult to see until after the work was done.
- Reporting for owners and lenders required manual assembly each month, which slowed close and limited visibility between cycles.
- Twelve separate tracking workbooks covered different operating questions, with overlapping data and no single source of truth.
Reyco needed an operating layer that the team could run from, with cleaner project economics, faster close, and a structure that could carry the company through its next stage of growth.
Approach
We deployed Bridge as the operating layer for the company. An embedded SLKone team worked alongside the operations group on a sequenced migration.
- Built the Bridge tenant against Reyco’s operating model and connected it to the existing accounting system.
- Migrated processes for estimating, project setup, change orders, and field reporting into Bridge as live processes the team and Bridge agents both operate.
- Consolidated planning, allocations, and project economics into the platform so margins are calculated against live cost inputs.
- Replaced the twelve tracking workbooks with one operating layer, with rollups designed for the management team and for owner and lender reporting.
- Captured senior expertise as structured knowledge in the platform, so the operating playbook stays with the company.
Impact
- Twelve tracking workbooks consolidated into one operating layer.
- Project margin visibility moved from month-end to the day the work happens.
- Month-end close shortened by [TBD]%.
- Owner and lender reporting produced from the same source of truth as operations.
- [TBD] consistent process definitions captured in Bridge for the team and Bridge agents to operate from.
The deployment is part of the Amalgam Capital flywheel. The same approach is being prepared for additional companies in the portfolio.
